CouncilPub Night / Speaker's Night #2
On May 18th, we continued our new program of monthly pub nights at the Spitfire with guest speaker Laurie Dobbs.
Laurie is the director of the Acadia University Art Gallery as well as Adjunct Art Historian, Department of History and Classics
She had many tales to tell us of note-worthy showings at the Gallery, as well as valuable information about its extensive collections and the process by which artists are selected for shows.
In the audience that night was Avery Vaughan with his charming wife. Avery was involved when the Acadia Art Gallery was first being created and was able add to Laurie's stories with several of his own. Those of us in attendance were fortunate to have been able to see how history blends into the present
